I CHING - the book of changes -3
The Chun Hexagram
Grow, move forward, with measured pace, checking yourself all the way. Observe the situation carefully, seeing all the facets, all possible sources of trouble. Use firm but proper action where necessary. Delegate responsibility and accept help, but not so as to become dependant. Do not overextend yourself. Be sure of yourself, sure of your ground and then move cautiously but surely ahead.

Book : Destination Moon
With recent success of Chandrayaan-1 lunar mission by India it is obvious that scientific community of India would become more curious about the whole project and efforts gone into that. I immediately searched for blogs/articles on the same and then came to know recently a book also got published on the same. I headed to flipkart and ordered one.
I started reading this book with lot of expectations; but after reading preface by author it became clear what to expect from this book. It is small book and you can finish it in your daily commute in 3-4 days. I haven't finished reading yet but spreading word about achievement of India's space program is needed. Its been long time when I read last about planets and astronomy in general. Author Pallava Bagla has mentioned most of the factual details about space program journey so far. Incidentally I knew about INSAT and IRS satellites in school days but now realized how important they are for massive country like India.
This book though fails in driving the "real point" home. Either it should have concentrated on technical achievements and its benefits for India in 21st century or only the chronology of the events in more detail which decided the direction of chaandrayaan mission . I would have loved more photographs and more anecdotes about the things happened over the years. I salute all the scientists who toiled all these years. I envy them for their passion about the work they do. Do read this book to get perspective of India's success in this very competitive as well as niche business.

what I've been doing recently
On the reading front I again Hugh Prather's Notes to Myself. This is a good book for some meaningful reading. In fact it is the only book I've read ever which makes you take pauses after every paragraph you have to finished. You immediately connect to situation or lines mentioned there and try to extract meaning out of it. It is healing for sure. Makes you calm when you are frustrated :)
I purchased following books from flipkart. I havent finished all of them but would provide me enough stories to read, words to churn and thoughts to think.
- Destination Moonby Pallava bagla - India's space mission story for the last decade
- Stay hungry Stay foolish by Rashmi Bansal - 25 IIMA enterpreuners
- iWoz (finished*) - Apple Inc Story from the very early days
- The Prophet- Kahil Gibran - Dont know why I purchased this. Lets see
- Man's Search for meaning by Victor Frankl - was top on my reading list. Would be interesting read for sure.
